Psalm 118 is one of the most significantly prophetic about the definitive liberation that Yahweh —that is, the Lord Jesus Christ— would bring to his people once they finally learned what the due procedures of his justice have always consisted of. Sung formerly on the seventh day of the Feast of Tabernacles, traditionally known as "The Great Hosanna", it has been one of the most quoted psalms by Jesus, who thus gave a very clear indication that the things expressed there were still awaiting their total fulfillment. in the same festive context in the last days of the present age.

Give thanks to Yahweh, because he is good, because his goodness is permanent!

Let Israel now say: "Because his goodness is permanent!" Let the house of Aaron now say: "Because his goodness is permanent!" Let those who fear Yahweh say now: "Because his goodness is permanent!"

From anguish I have invoked Yah and Yah answered me with a spacious place. Yahweh is on my side: I will not fear what man does to me! Yahweh is on my side among those who help me! I will see, therefore, what will become of those who hate me!

It is better to take refuge in Yahweh than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in Yahweh than to trust in rulers...

All nations will surround me, in Yahweh's name, when I cut them! They will turn and surround me, in Yahweh's name, when I cut them! They will turn to me like bees, they will be extinguished like fire of thorns, in the name of Yahweh, when I cut them!

You had given me a strong push to make me fall, but Yahweh has helped me. My strength and my song is Yah, for which he will be the one to deliver me!

There is a voice of excitement and deliverance in the tents of the righteous:

“Yahweh's right hand acts with power! Yahweh's right hand is exalted! Yahweh's right hand acts with power!"

I will not die, but will live to tell the deeds of Yah! Yah punished me harshly, but he has not handed me over to death... Open the gates of justice for me! I'll go in through them, I'll thank Yah! This is Yahweh's gate! The righteous will enter through it! I will thank you for how you answered me and this has been for my liberation!

“The stone that the builders rejected is the cornerstone: from Yahweh this happens and it is wonderful in our eyes! This is the day that Yahweh has made! We will exult and rejoice with him!

“We beg you, Yahweh: deliver us! We beg you, Yahweh: make us prosper!

“Blessed is he who comes in the name of Yahweh! We bless you from Yahweh's house! Yahweh is God and he has enlightened us! Tie a victim with the ropes to the horns of the altar! "

You are my God! I will thank you, my God, and I will exalt you!

Give thanks to Yahweh, because he is good, because his goodness is permanent!
